will be attending another meeting with the City Manager and the other
department heads on May 6 to finalize the entire City budget.

Ramon Aguilar mentioned that part of the department's budget cuts include
the loss of the accessible van for the therapeutic recreation program. Director
Griffiths mentioned that the budget hearings are scheduled for June and are
open to the public. Chairperson Swope suggested applying for a grant for a
van from the Peninsula Community Foundation. Director Griffiths said that
the Fair Oaks budget for I&R is fine right now but that it will be in jeopardy
next year and may be eliminated due to cuts from the County.

ITEM 6 - FEE SCHEDULES FOR CITY FACILITIES

Commissioner Davis referred to the tennis court survey completed by Ramon
Aguilar several years ago and mentioned that the cities who charge for their
tennis courts have a pro shop and tennis instructor on site and that it would
not be practical for Redwood City to charge for its courts. He felt that the rest
of the charges for our buildings / facilities were fair.

Commissioner Morton asked if we could charge ad ul t soccer leagues for the
rental of our fields. The Commissioners discussed the matter of charging
adult groups rental fees for field usage and Director Griffiths suggested having
Supervisor Bill Wooten speak to the Commission on this matter.
Commissioner Morton asked if a survey could be conducted with other cities
including Menlo Park and Foster City to see what they charge for field usage.
He was also interested to see if those cities supply any services such as
maintenance and scheduling to their adult sports groups, level of their
involvement with those groups, how many teams are involved, etc. to see
how it compares to Redwood City.

ITEM 7 - REVIEW OF REVISED BROWN ACT

Director Griffiths mentioned that two letters from the City Attorney's Office
as well as a copy of a booklet produced by the Palo Alto City Attorney's Office
were sent to the Commissioners to better answer their questions regarding
the newly revised Brown Act. The Commissioners discussed the changes and
how it affects our Commission meetings. Director Griffiths mentioned that if
the Commissioners had any further questions, a letter could be sent to the
City Attorney's Office for further clarification. This matter will be placed on
Ma y agenda for further discussion.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

-Commissioner Nordness said Redwood City International received a letter
from Zhuhai stating that they would be sending a cultural group to Redwood
