Mr. Aguilar stated HUCA has addresses of all next of kin
and they send out flyers and newsletters to everyone to keep them apprised of
Union Cemetery activities.

ITEM 2 - PUBLIC REQUESTS TO USE CITY FACILITIES

Superintendent Seleznow stated that the letter sent to Commissioner Morton
from Redeemer Lutheran School was similar to requests staff receives from
groups who want to use our facilities. He asked the Commissioners to refer
all use requests to staff who will be happy to handle them. Supervisor Jan
Knight reported she contacted the principal of Redeemer Lutheran School
regarding his letter. She explained the situation to him and also gave him
other options. She said that Sundays at Red Morton Center have been set
aside for rentals and she currently has over 100 requests to use the building.
Supervisor Knight stated she receives calls every week about rental of the
center and gives tours weekly to groups and people from other cities who are
interested in the new facility. She said staff is trying to accommodate requests
to use the facility from the public and will make referrals to other locations if
possib Ie .

Supervisor Knight mentioned that representatives from each of the
departmen t' s buildings have been meeting to develop a new rate schedule for
our facility rentals. She said CPRS just completed a rate comparison study of
15 cities in the Bay Area and the group is using this information to help
develop our rate schedule. She noted that many people are asking to rent the
facilities for events one year in advance. She assured the Commissioners that
all types of things are being considered for the new Red Morton Center.

Supervisor Knight also reported that she just found out that the Red Morton
Center has received a grant from the Stanford University MBA Alumni
program. They will be donating consulting work and will be working with
staff to develop a proposal for a long term marketing plan for the new facility.
She said the consulting work will last 4-6 months and the first meeting will
be very soon.

ITEM 3 - 4TH OF JULY PARADE

Commissioner Swope will complete the 4th of July Parade application for
PCA.
