He also met last week with
Mr. P. Terry Anderlini and Director Griffiths to review potential sites for this
project. Although several sites were toured, the issue of accessibility and
parking are major considerations. One possible site was identified near the
Indian Creek Apartments and Mr. Anderlini was advised that the Redwood
Shores Homeowners Association needs to survey the community to
determine if neighbors near the site would be receptive to this proposal. If
the community agrees with the proposal, then a partnership with between
the City and the community would be developed. Commissioner Slusser
mentioned Director Griffiths will work with the Community Development
Department to obtain information on the site and will forward to Mr.
Anderlini. Commissioner Slusser said the possible site is currently under
jurisdiction of the Corp. of Engineers and he discussed modifications that
would need to be made to the property for the dog exercise area.
Commissioner Slusser will continue to work on this matter and will keep the
Commission informed on his progress. Director Griffiths has sent a letter to
Mr. Anderlini with a copy of an aerial photograph depicting the site adjacent
to the Indian Creek development.

ITEM 3 - IMPLEMENTATION OF FY96-97 WORKPLAN GOALS

Commissioner Slusser reported he and Commissioner Nordness have
developed an article for the Winter Recreation brochure featuring one of our
parks to help educate the public for Objective #1. Chairperson Truscelli mentioned working on Objective
#3 by having Senior Affairs Chairperson Lloyd address the Commission this
evening. Commissioner Hughes offered her assistance to help with any of
the objectives and will work on Objective #2.

ITEM 4 . APPROVAL OF YOUTH ADVISORY COUNCIL BY-LAWS

Commissioner Morton reported he participated on the November 14 oral
interviews for the Youth Advisory Council (YAC) applicants and was very
impressed with the quality of the applicants. He said he was concerned that
there be a tie-in between the Y AC and the Park and Recreation Commission
and suggested that a representative from the Commission attend the YAC
meetings on a rotational basis.

The Commissioners discussed the proposed by-laws and felt that they would
make comments but would not approve them until the Y AC members have
