Director of Public Works Addiego referred to an overhead projection of the Laurel Way neighborhood and described what he believed to be the concern regarding traffic of Mr. Pflug and his neighbors. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (See below, page 4) ORAL COMMUNICATIONS 1. John Murray, 568 Seahorse Lane, invited City Council members to attend a meeting of the general membership of Redwood Shores Homeowners Association (RSHA) at Marine World Park at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday~ January 12, 1983. Mr. Murray suggested that the meeting could be one of those Council is planning to hold in neighborhoods. CONSENSUS: Mayor Stangel determined it to be the consensus of Council to accept the invitation of RSHA and to be present for an informal meeting with residents of Redwood Shores at Marine World Park on Wednesday January 12, 1983. It was suggested that Council may wish to adjourn the meeting scheduled for January 3, 1983 to the January 12 RSHA meeting and cancel the meeting set for January 10. Vice Mayor Britschgi noted that the Grand Opening of the Veterans Memorial Senior Center is set for Friday, December 3, 1982 and suggested that a Saturday morning might be a better time for the ceremonies as more people might be able to attend. City Manager Smith said he would bring the suggestion to the attention of the Senior Citizens Advisory Committee. (Memo 11/9/82) Mayor Stangel announced that a piano is needed for the Center or donations toward the purchase of a piano. Councilman Bury requested that staff investigate the cost and the possible source of funding to repaint the auditorium at the Center. (Memo 11/9/82) 2. Councilman Biagi reported that the Seniors will try to get donations for purchase of new drapes for the auditorium stage, but would like to have it repainted. Councilman Bury called attention to the IIClean-Up Weekll to be conducted November 15-19, 1982 by the Downtown Association and urged Council members to part i c i pate. 3. Mayor Stangel commended the Soropotimist Club for their contribution for the children's play structure at Fair Oaks Community Center. Mayor Stangel reported on the establishment of a task force for communications between the Counties of San Mateo and San Francisco with two representatives from the Council of Mayors also participating. 4. 5.
