Chairman
Anderson will check into it.

The Belmont park district raises money through concerts, etc.
Commissioner Swope pointed out that there are problems associated
with such activities such as neighbors complaining about noise and
rowdiness from rock bands. Commissioner Buchan will investigate the
possibilities of raising money by holding special events to
supplement the budget.

The Park and Recreation Commissioners wondered if the shorter items
on the City Council agenda could be discussed first. Director
Griffiths explained that the agenda is set at the discretion of the
City Manager.

Par~_Inspection Re~ort~

The Park Inspection Report forms were submitted to the Park
Supervisors for review and assignment. Prior to submitting the forms
Director Griffiths reviewed the forms and their content with the
supervisors. Many of the items in need of correction have previously
been submitted as work requests to the Street Tree Maintenance crew,
General Services or to our departmental maintenance personnel.

Monthly Reports

MOTION:

Made by Commissioner Swope seconded by Commissioner
Kingsford-Smith that the monthly reports be approved as
submitted.

The motion was approved unanimously.

Roundtable

Commissioner Mortensen inquired about the light that was mentioned in
the November minutes. Director Griffi.ths explained that Mr. Jones
has not done it yet and it will probably be included in the lighting
plans for the parking lot.

Commissioner Nordness questioned the lack of a basketball program for
the fifth and sixth grade boys and girls. A bulletin was received
during the latter part of January stating the trouble in getting
coaches. The Commissioner contacted eight or nine of the schools
previously involved and felt that there was a lot of disappointment
within the school administration and that there was poor coordination
on behalf of the Park and Recreation Department. Director Griffiths
