5. Seek cost/effective programs and projects that will <br /> leverage additional funds from other sources. <br /> 6. Promote Countywide significant projects. <br /> 7 . Encourage innovation. <br /> 8. Coordinate funding requests in both categories, i.e. 40%, <br /> 60% categories. <br /> ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA <br /> The criteria are based on program objectives and priorities and <br /> serve as the minimum criteria for AB 434 funding eligibility. <br /> 1. Only public agencies including, but not limited to, <br /> cities, counties, school districts, transit districts, <br /> regional, state, and other agencies responsible for <br /> implementing specified transportation projects or programs <br /> are eligible to apply. <br /> 2 . A public agency may sponsor a funding application for a <br /> project that will be jointly implemented through a <br /> private/public partnership. <br /> 3 . The project must meet program objectives and conform with <br /> AB 434 and BAAQMD requirements. <br /> 4 . Projects must be within one of the seven areas listed in <br /> AB 434 . The following projects are not listed in order <br /> of priority. <br /> o Ridesharing/trip reduction ordinances/programs <br /> o Clean fuel buses <br /> o Feeder bus/shuttle service <br /> o Local arterial traffic management <br /> o Rail/bus integration/regional transit information <br /> o Demonstration projects of Telecommuting, congestion <br /> pricing and alternative fuel vehicles <br /> o Smoking vehicles program <br /> -2- 11744 <br />
