<br />, <br /> <br />.... <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission <br />Minutes of July 24, 2002 <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />Commissioner Walsh asked what Mrs. Travers would recommend that the <br />Commission do about Stafford Park. She felt that proper signage should be <br />installed at the park to advise people of the rules and regulations similar to <br />what is used at the City of Cupertino parks. <br /> <br />The Commissioners agreed to set a meeting date of the sub-committee later <br />tonight. <br /> <br />-Hoover Field <br />Superintendent Hover reported that the field is currently under construction. <br /> <br />-Spinal Park <br />Superintendent Hover reported that staff is working to obtain the design <br />plans from MIG. <br /> <br />-Skate Park <br />Construction will begin in two weeks and there will be a grand opening when <br />the project is finished. Chairperson Joseph asked about having a ground <br />breaking ceremony for the project and press releases about the start of the <br />project. Fundraising efforts include pavers and bricks, and the Chevy's <br />dinner raised over $500.00. <br /> <br />-Windmill Renovation <br />Chairperson Joseph stated that there is $30,000.00 in funding in the new <br />budget for the windmill project and suggested that the sub-committee meet <br />to discuss the project. <br /> <br />-Dog Park #2 <br />Commissioner Swope reported on attending the fundraiser this past <br />weekend. Chairperson Joseph thanked staff for donating gift certificates <br />towards this event. <br /> <br />-Strategic Plan <br />Commissioner Swope announced she has aggregated all questionnaire <br />responses and is working on refining the responses further. Director Centeno <br />said staff is gathering data which will go along with the strategic plan and will <br />assist the Commission during its retreat. . <br /> <br />Director Centeno announced that Council will be voting on the selection of <br />new commissioners at its August 12 meeting. The Commissioners decided to <br />move the date of their Study Session/Retreat to October 26. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />-- <br />
