<br /> <br />j <br /> <br />Pltrk and Recreation Commission <br />Minutes of October 23, 2002 <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />ITEM 3 - REPORT FROM STAFFORD PARK INTERIM RULES <br />COMMITTEE <br /> <br />Superintendent Hover stated at the Commission's request, letters were sent <br />to more than 80 Stafford Park neighbors concerning the proposed Stafford <br />Park rules. He announced that he had received no calls from neighbors <br />regarding the letter. Commissioner Davis asked about the results of the <br />concert survey sent to Stafford Park neighbors and was advised that there <br />was strong neighborhood support of the concerts. A copy of the concert <br />survey results will be sent in the November Commission packet; one survey <br />was sent to immediate neighbors and the other survey was given to <br />attendees at the last two summer concerts. <br /> <br />Superintendent Hover noted that contained in the sub..committee <br />recommendations was a recommendation that a new sub-committee be <br />appointed to address updating our rules in all parks with consideration given <br />to the Stafford rules. The goals would be to have a common set of park <br />rules. <br /> <br />M/S Davis/Walsh: To accept the recommendations from the Stafford <br />Park Interim Rules Committee. <br /> <br />Commissioner Morton asked when these rules would be reviewed in the <br />future. He does not want to see every park with its own set of rules and <br />would like to see a system-wide rules task force review all park rules. The <br />Commissioners agreed with this idea. <br /> <br />Motion passed. <br /> <br />ITEM 4 - REVIEW REPORT FROM STRATEGIC PLAN COMMITTEE <br /> <br />Director Centeno announced the three committees will report at the Study <br />Session. Commissioner Davis requested that the draft Strategic Plan be <br />reviewed at the beginning of the Study Session. <br /> <br />ITEM 5 - DISCUSSION OF STUDY SESSION GOALS <br /> <br />Chairperson Joseph stated she would like staff in attendance for the entire <br />Study Session. Commissioner Davis felts that there is real value in having <br />staff present at the meeting I <br /> <br />ITEM 6 - CHAIRPERSON REPORT <br /> <br />-Pet Parade <br />Chairperson Joseph 'reported she spoke with Shore Dogs and they will co- <br />sponsor the 2003 Pet Parade and provide the same level of support as this <br />year. She said she spoke to several Council Members about the role of the <br /> <br />- <br />
