Non-profits should be no charge
as well as schools. Need to be consistent in charging fees.

Superintendent Beth asked the Commissioners if the Stafford Park Interim
Rules should be incorporated into the new policy and the Commissioners
agreed that there should be one consistent set of rules for all our parks.
Superintendent Beth asked about allowing alcohol in parks and Commissioner
Joseph mentioned that she and Commissioner Davis met with Police Chief
Bolanos several years ago to discuss this topic and were given a negative
response by Chief Bolanos. There was discussion on this matter.

Superintendent Beth asked the Commission if they wished to have the
program pay for a staff member to monitor the park sites as well as our
fields. Commissioner Morton said that when people pay for an area, they
want and expect the area to be clean, so we should consider monitoring the
area. The Commissioners also discussed allowing "jumpers" in the parks.

Staff will take the suggestions/comments and bring back a revised
reservation policy and fee schedule to the February meeting.

ITEM 4 - UPDATES

-Spinas Park
Superintendent Hover reported the successful re-dedication of Spinas Park
was held on January 24. The park was well received by the community and
looks great.

-Pet Pa rade
Commissioner Joseph stated the Pet Parade is scheduled for Saturday, April 3
and she is working with the same people from last year's event. Plans
include: t-shirts for sale, Rescue booth, video, sponsors, agility course
demonstration, and vendors. She will be attending a Shore Dogs meeting to
work on plans for the event. Commissioner Joseph asked the Commissioners
to sign-up to work at the event and noted that judges are needed.

-Proposition 40
Superintendent Hover announced that Council approved our request to
submit an application for Proposition 40 funds. Ideas of proposed projects
using this funding will come back to the Commission for review.

-Windmill
Superintendent Hover has a draft agreement prepared for the San Mateo
County Historic Museum but one of the obstacles is that there is no decision
on what happens to the windmill after it is refurbished and who is going to
take ownership. Commissioner Davis said he felt that the responsibility of
the windmill project needs to be turned over to another community
organization which has a focus on historic preservation.

,... -.
