Superintendent Hover <br />thanked Director Centeno for her work on the document. The Commissioners <br />were pleased with the document and made comments on various sections. <br /> <br />MIS Swope/Truscelli: To accept the Department's Annual Report <br />and to have staff provide the document to City Council. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />ITEM 4 - PICNIC RESERVATION REPORT, REVIEW AND APPROVAL TO <br />REPORT TO COUNCIL <br /> <br />Superintendent Beth stated that when the picnic reservation program was <br />approved by City Council last year, they had requested a follow-up report on <br />the program once implemented. The Commissioners were provided with a <br />copy of the results 2004 Picnic Reservation program and a follow-up survey <br />completed by participants. During the two month pilot program, more than <br />$4,100 was collected in fees from 140 reservations. Superintendent Beth <br />noted that the survey respondents were extremely satisfied with the program <br />and that a notice promoting the 2005 program will be sent out in the utility <br />bills beginning in March. <br /> <br />ITEM 5 - SUB-COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />-Park Rules Sub-Committee <br />Vice Chairperson Morton stated the Sub-Committee will be meeting soon to <br />discuss the park rules and will present a draft recommendation at the <br />February meeting. The sub-committee will be looking at park rules and will <br />not include anything about lagoon guidelines. Director Centeno advised the <br />Commission that the City Attorney stated that the lagoon ordinances be <br />separate from the park rules ordinances. <br /> <br />.Pet Parade <br />Commissioner Joseph report the Pet Parade will be held on Saturday, April 9 <br />and that she met with Superintendents Beth and Hover regarding organizing <br />the event. <br /> <br />.Park Development Ordinance <br />Superintendent Hover and Director Centeno spoke about the development of <br />a Park Development Ordinance (PDO) and a meeting that was held last week <br />with City staff regarding this topic. Plans for the PD~ include developing an <br />RFP for a consultant to handle the PD~; forming a PD~ Oversight Committee <br />which will include two Planning Commissions, two Council members, two Park <br />& Recreation Commissioners, two Community Development staff members <br />and staff members from our department; and taking the ordinance for <br />approval by the City Council in June. Director Centeno noted the need to <br />separate this PD~ from the large community input process vision for 2020, <br />although they could run simultaneously.
