Senior Civil Engineer Voretmensanti explained that esthetics is the reason for the <br />City's undergrounding of utilities. He explained the various projects and <br />approximate costs the City pays in conjunction with street construction. <br />Council Member Bain stated his desire for staff to keep the Council abreast of <br />the County's plans as they develop and reserve the possibility for further dialogue <br />during the next Capital Improvements Program (CIP) discussion. <br />Council comments included support for further discussion under the CIP and <br />favor toward Roosevelt Phase III and Middlefield but not Whipple Avenue due to <br />it being an entry point to the downtown retail cinema project. <br />Howard /Foust to extend the meeting to 11:25 p.m. The motion passed by a <br />unanimous voice vote. <br />D.
