The third roll call vote conducted by City Clerk Howe resulted in the following <br />tally of votes: <br />Applicants are listed in alphabetical order: <br />• William Conklin — <br />Arthur Faro — Council Member Howard <br />• Ralph Garcia — Council Members Aguirre,Bain, Foust and Hartnett, <br />Mayor Ira <br />• Stephen Leaf —Vice Mayor Pierce <br />The successful applicant is Ralph Garcia, to serve the unexpired term until <br />July 31, 2007. (209) MINUTE ORDER 05 -199 <br />E. Council Member Hartnett — spoke of the Stanford Hospital and Clinics <br />Proposed Expansion to Redwood City stating that it has been a topic of <br />conversation in the community but has not been formally brought to Council for a <br />report on the status. He asked that the Council hear a status report on where it is <br />in the process and the implications of it to the community. He referenced a <br />recent letter received from SEIU Local 715 addressing some issues but is only <br />one of many inquiries Council Members have received. He requested that at the <br />next Council meeting on October 24, staff provide a report detailing the status <br />and what roles staff, Planning Commission and Council may have on the <br />process so that Council might be involved in the community conversation <br />component if appropriate. <br />Foust/Howard to extend the meeting to 11:35 p.m. The motion passed by a <br />unanimous voice vote. <br />F. Council Member. Foust — announced two events coming up, the Arts and Olive <br />Festival at Canada College from 1-4 p.m. on October 3 and the "Save the Music <br />event ", from 11 -5 p.m. on October 2. <br />G. Council Member Aguirre — stated that on September 25, a delegation of 8 from <br />Zhuhai, China was in Redwood City where she participated in a lunch and was <br />presented a gift that she gave for the City's collection. She also mentioned that <br />she spent the weekend in Oakland for the Daimler Chrysler California Latino <br />Caucus Institute for Elected Officials Leadership Training. She stated that it was <br />a wonderful training institute that serves all elected officials and she offered the <br />materials she brought from the training as references and resources. <br />H. Mayor Ira — stated that as follow -up on the Gang Task Force, there have been <br />three evictions of gang members from apartments in Redwood City.
