<br /> 3 <br />Fresh Lifelines for Youth <br /> <br />Melissa Poling and Kody Lizana from Fresh Lifelines for Youth gave a presentation on the <br />FLY Law and Leadership Program for Redwood City Youth. They discussed what the <br />program is and what services it provides. <br /> <br />Committee Member Hiester asked about the recidivism rates for those that participate in the <br />program. <br /> <br />Ms. Poling provided some statistics for the recidivism rates for those that participate in the <br />program. <br /> <br />Vice Chair Recht asked for information on eligibility. <br /> <br />Ms. Poling stated they are eligible for up to two years. She discussed how they work to follow <br />up with participants after they complete the course. <br /> <br />Vice Chair Recht asked if they have any plans for long term follow up. <br /> <br />Mr. Lizana stated that they really rely on the participants to keep in touch over time. <br /> <br />Vice Chair Recht asked if participants can be nominated. <br /> <br />Mr. Lizana stated that he doesn’t know off hand, but he can find out and let them know. <br /> <br />Staff Member Chin stated that if there is information the committee would like from the <br />presenters, please forward that to her so she can reach out and collect it. <br /> <br />Health Connected <br /> <br />Abigail Karlin-Resnick, Executive Director at Health Connected, gave a presentation on their <br />Redwood City Sexual Health Education Project. She stated Redwood City is moving their <br />sexual health program from the 6th and 8th grade to include the 5th and 7th grade. She stated <br />that they are seeking the committee’s financial support while they undergo this two-year <br />transition. <br /> <br />Committee Member Hiester asked for clarification as to what the school district pays. <br /> <br />Ms. Karlin-Resnick explained how much the school district pays and how much Health <br />Connected needs to pay as a part of their share. <br /> <br />International Institute of the Bay Area <br /> <br />Sheryl Munoz-Bergman, Director of Programs for the International Institute of the Bay Area, <br />gave a presentation on their work in supporting Redwood City Immigrant families. She <br />thanked those families that came out to the meeting in support of their work. Ms. Munoz- <br />Bergman explained the work that the International Institute of the Bay Area does and how <br />important it is in light of recent executive actions. <br />
