<br />REV: 03-16-18 MI <br />ATTY/AGR/2018.054/RECOLOGY OF SAN MATEO <br />Page 20 of 119 <br />Targeted Recyclable Materials in a manner that best suits the needs of the 708 <br />Agency Facility. 709 <br />Contractor shall Collect Single-Steam Targeted Recyclable Materials or other 710 <br />Source Separated Targeted Recyclable Materials Generated at Agency Premises 711 <br />at least once per week or more frequently, up to seven (7) times per week, as 712 <br />scheduled by the Agency provided that the Generator has Source Separated the 713 <br />Targeted Recyclable Materials from Solid Waste and placed the materials in the 714 <br />appropriate Contractor-provided Container. Contractor shall Collect Targeted 715 <br />Recyclable Materials at the designated location agreed upon by Contractor and 716 <br />Agency. 717 <br />2. Service Methods. Contractor shall allow Agency Facilities to select a Collection 718 <br />service method that best suits the needs of its Premises. Specifically, the 719 <br />Contractor shall offer the following choices to Member Agency Facilities: 720 <br />a. Cart service. Contractor shall allow Agency Facilities to use Carts for 721 <br />Targeted Recyclable Materials Collection. Contractor shall provide each 722 <br />Customer with a choice of one (1) or more Carts as specified in Attachment 723 <br />D. 724 <br />b. Bin service. Contractor shall allow Agency Facilities to use Bins for Targeted 725 <br />Recyclable Materials Collection. Contractor shall provide each Agency with 726 <br />a choice of one (1) or more Bins for each Agency Facility. 727 <br />c. Centralized Cart or Bin service. Contractor shall allow Agency Facilities to 728 <br />use Carts or Bins for Targeted Recyclable Materials Collection that are 729 <br />shared by the Occupants of two (2) or more adjacent Agency Facilities. In 730 <br />such case, Contractor shall provide one (1) or more Carts or Bins to such 731 <br />Premises as requested by Agency. 732 <br />d. Drop Boxes and Compactors. Contractor shall allow Agency Facilities to use 733 <br />Drop Boxes or Compactors for the Collection of Targeted Recyclable 734 <br />Materials. Contractor shall allow Agency to purchase or lease Compactors 735 <br />through an outside vendor. Regular maintenance of Compactors shall be 736 <br />required by Agency (or outside vendor) as frequently as needed to keep the 737 <br />Compactors in good working order and functioning at high compaction levels. 738 <br />3. Public Recycling Receptacles. Contractor shall Collect Recyclable Materials from 739 <br />public Recycling receptacles located on streets and parking lots, and from public 740 <br />Recycling receptacles in parks that are accessible for Curbside Collection. 741 <br />Contractor shall also Collect Recyclable Materials that are contained in bags or 742 <br />boxes and placed adjacent to public Recycling receptacles. These Collections will 743 <br />be made between one (1) and seven (7) Days per week, as determined by 744 <br />Agency. If Contractor concludes upon visual inspection that the Recyclables 745 <br />placed in (or adjacent to) the public Recyclables receptacles have a 746 <br />Contamination Level greater than that which is acceptable at the MRF, Contractor 747 <br />shall Collect the materials as Solid Waste. Contractor is responsible for notifying 748 <br />Agency if a public Recycling receptacle is inoperable within twenty-four (24) hours 749 <br />of observing or being notified of the defect. A list of public Recycling receptacles 750 <br />is included in Attachment B. If persistent contamination occurs in public Recycling 751 <br />receptacles then, at Contractor’s request, appropriate Agency staff shall meet 752 <br />6.2.B. - Page 33
