All abandoned or illegally dumped materials Collected by Contractor 1110 <br />shall be transported to Shoreway Recycling and Disposal Center for processing, with 1111 <br />the exception of scrap metal, and all related diversion statistics shall be included in 1112 <br />the appropriate reports to the Agency for all materials Collected. Contractor shall be 1113 <br />allowed to transport scrap metal directly to a licensed scrap metal recycler. 1114 <br />Contractor shall, to the greatest extent possible, deliver all reusable non-metal 1115 <br />abandoned waste items to organizations such as Society of St. Vincent de Paul and 1116 <br />Goodwill Industries, or other organizations as directed by Agency. 1117 <br />E. Agency-Specific Reporting. The Agency may request Contractor to interface with 1118 <br />an Agency-specific web-based application for reporting completion of abandoned 1119 <br />waste collections. In such case, Agency shall compensate Contractor on an annual 1120 <br />basis for this additional effort at a rate to be mutually agreed by Agency and 1121 <br />Contractor. 1122 <br />5.10 COATS FOR KIDS PROGRAM 1123 <br />If requested by Agency, Contractor shall implement a “Coats for Kids Program” annually 1124 <br />at no additional cost to Customers and shall not bill Agency for such services. The program 1125 <br />shall consist of Contractor’s drivers Collecting coats from Customers on their route over a 1126 <br />one (1) to two (2) week period during the fall, as well as from Collection Containers placed 1127 <br />by Contractor in various public locations specified by Agency, such as libraries, City Hall, 1128 <br />and businesses. The coats collected through this program will be sorted and laundered 1129 <br />by Contractor, and arrangements made by Contractor for distribution to a local non-profit 1130 <br />organization, such as the Family Services Agency. Prior to the implementation of the 1131 <br />program, Contractor shall present a detailed program plan to Agency for review and 1132 <br />approval. All related diversion statistics shall be included in the appropriate reports to the 1133 <br />Agency. Annually, no later than sixty (60) Days prior to the start of the program, Contractor 1134 <br />shall notice Agency regarding the program start and end date. 1135 <br /> 1136 <br />The general scope of outreach that shall be conducted in order to properly promote the 1137 <br />program shall include, but not be limited to promotion on websites, and distribution of 1138 <br />media such as flyers and press releases. 1139 <br />5.11 COMPOST GIVE-AWAY 1140 <br />Contractor shall coordinate with the Agency to host “Bring Your Own Bucket” (BYOB) 1141 <br />giveaway of compost to residents. Contractor shall take the lead in organizing the delivery 1142 <br />of compost by Operator to either Shoreway Environmental Center (if Contractor is 1143 <br />delivering compost in a Drop Box) or directly to the event (by Operator). The BYOB 1144 <br />compost giveaway shall provide residents with free compost to enrich their gardens while 1145 <br />also educating residents on the benefits of home composting. If included in the Three-1146 <br />Year Public Education Plan as a requirement, Contractor representatives shall be on hand 1147 <br />to distribute Recycling guides and other educational material promoting waste reduction 1148 <br />and Recycling. Contractor is required to deliver to Agency thirty (30) cubic yards of 1149 <br />compost annually in one (1) or two (2) deliveries for the BYOB events and/or for use at 1150 <br />Agency facilities and shall not bill Agency for such services. Agency shall schedule events 1151 <br />as far in advance as possible. Contractor can only schedule up to four (4) events in any 1152 <br />weekend and lead-time is needed to ensure adequate promotion of the event. The 1153 <br />SBWMA will take the lead promoting the BYOB events. If Agency requests delivery of 1154 <br />more than thirty (30) cubic yards of compost annually, Contractor shall provide the delivery 1155 <br />6.2.B. - Page 42
