<br />REV: 03-16-18 MI <br />ATTY/AGR/2018.054/RECOLOGY OF SAN MATEO <br />Page 30 of 119 <br />and bill Agency the Charge specified in Attachment Q or Contractor shall be entitled to an 1156 <br />increase in Contractor’s Compensation for the Rate Year that the compost is delivered to 1157 <br />Agency based on the Charge specified in Attachment Q. 1158 <br />5.12 RESERVED 1159 <br />5.13 COMMUNITY DROP-OFF EVENTS 1160 <br />Upon request by Agency, Contractor shall hold drop-off events at a location selected by 1161 <br />the Agency to allow Residential Customers to drop off acceptable materials. Acceptable 1162 <br />materials, which shall be determined by the Agency, may include one or more of the 1163 <br />following: E-Scrap, Universal Waste, Recyclable Materials, Organic Materials, and Solid 1164 <br />Waste. 1165 <br />A. General Requirements. Contractor shall promote, manage, staff, and operate drop-1166 <br />off event(s) for Residential Customers scheduled for one (1) weekend Day (i.e., 1167 <br />Saturday or Sunday) or two (2) consecutive weekend Days upon request from 1168 <br />Agency. 1169 <br />The Agency shall approve the date of the drop-off event and all advertisements or 1170 <br />public announcements related to such event. Contractor shall promote the event by 1171 <br />preparing Billing inserts to be included in each Customer’s Bill and by advertising in 1172 <br />a minimum of two local area newspapers as approved by the Agency. 1173 <br />Contractor shall manage, staff, and supervise the event. Contractor shall provide 1174 <br />traffic control and signage; inspect materials delivered to the event; separate 1175 <br />materials; document each material type and quantity; transport Collected materials 1176 <br />to reuse, processing, or Disposal locations; and clean up the location at the end of 1177 <br />the event. 1178 <br />Neither Agency nor Contractor shall charge Customers delivering materials to the 1179 <br />event. 1180 <br />B. Accepted Materials. Customers may deliver and Contractor shall accept Major 1181 <br />Appliances, Bulky Items, Source Separated Targeted Recyclable Materials, Source 1182 <br />Separated Organic Materials, tires (i.e., four (4) per Customer, removed from rims, 1183 <br />no commercial tires), clean unpainted wood, Construction and Demolition Debris, 1184 <br />Universal Waste, E-Scrap, and Solid Waste. Contractor shall be allowed to reject: 1185 <br />liquids or sludge; cement; dirt; asphalt; concrete; Hazardous Waste; or Infectious 1186 <br />Waste. Contractor shall not establish a limit on the volume or weight of materials that 1187 <br />a Customer may bring for Collection. 1188 <br />C. Participants. Contractor shall verify Residents live in the Agency by reviewing a 1189 <br />driver’s license or utility bill. 1190 <br />D. Event Hours. Contractor shall accept materials from Residential Customers over one 1191 <br />(1) weekend Day (i.e., Saturday or Sunday) or two (2) consecutive weekend Days 1192 <br />from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 1193 <br />E. Recycling and Reuse. Contractor shall Collect materials in a manner that maximizes 1194 <br />reuse, Recycling, composting, and diversion of materials from Disposal. Contractor 1195 <br />shall make reasonable efforts to ensure that diversion goals are met or exceeded. 1196 <br />Contractor shall separate Recyclable Materials and Organic Materials and transport 1197 <br />6.2.B. - Page 43
