<br />REV: 03-16-18 MI <br />ATTY/AGR/2018.054/RECOLOGY OF SAN MATEO <br />Page 48 of 119 <br />reimbursement for the unfilled position(s) including the avoided cost of wages, 1900 <br />benefits, payroll taxes, and workers compensation insurance, for such position and 1901 <br />shall provide supporting documentation justifying its cost reimbursement calculations. 1902 <br />Such reimbursement shall be made as a deduction to Contractor’s Compensation 1903 <br />through the annual Contractor’s Compensation adjustment process described in 1904 <br />Article 11 and Attachment K. 1905 <br /> SBWMA reserves the right to request an increase or decreases in the number of 1906 <br />Waste Zero Specialists. Such a change shall be considered an Agency-directed 1907 <br />change in service and handled in accordance with provisions in Section 15.12. 1908 <br />B. Signs and Placards. Contractor shall be responsible for preparing, distributing, and 1909 <br />posting signs at Commercial Collection Premises that promote Targeted Recyclable 1910 <br />Materials and Organic Materials Collection services, describe the program 1911 <br />requirements, and identify allowable and prohibited types of materials for Collection. 1912 <br />At a minimum, the signs or placards shall be durable and weather resistant, and 1913 <br />affixed in the Container areas. Upon request from Customer, Contractor shall provide 1914 <br />signs and Container labeling in a second language such as, but not limited to, 1915 <br />Spanish. Within ten (10) Business Days of a Customer’s request, Contractor shall 1916 <br />provide extra signs for use in areas such as employee training areas, break rooms, 1917 <br />kitchens, and janitorial areas at Commercial Premises. The design of all signs and 1918 <br />placards shall be approved by Agency or SBWMA prior to distribution by Contractor. 1919 <br />C. Community Events. At the direction of the Agency or SBMWA, Contractor shall 1920 <br />participate in and promote diversion techniques at Community Events and local 1921 <br />activities. Participation includes providing educational and public outreach 1922 <br />information and promotional giveaways in an effort to promote the Agency’s waste 1923 <br />reduction and recycling program goals. Each year the Community Events that 1924 <br />Contractor agrees to participate in shall be outlined in the Three-Year Public 1925 <br />Education Plan described in Section 7.03.B. Attachment C presents a preliminary list 1926 <br />of the Community Events, which may be modified annually through the development 1927 <br />of the Three-Year Public Education Plan, as described in Section 5.08. 1928 <br />D. Notification to Commercial Customers. Immediately upon request from a new or 1929 <br />current Customer for new or changes in service, Contractor shall notify Customer by 1930 <br />phone or email of the Targeted Recyclable Materials and Organic Materials Collection 1931 <br />services offered by Contractor. Such notification shall be made available in English 1932 <br />and Spanish. 1933 <br />E. Targeted Commercial Recycling Promotion. To assist Customers in maximizing 1934 <br />participation in Recyclable Materials and Organic Materials Collection programs, 1935 <br />Contractor shall provide Commercial Customers with on-site waste assessments 1936 <br />based on visual assessment of Collection Containers and technical assistance in 1937 <br />selecting appropriate service levels. In providing such assistance, Contractor shall 1938 <br />follow the Three-Year Recycling Technical Assistance Plan described in Section 1939 <br />7.03.B, which will include details on the type of Commercial Recycling technical 1940 <br />assistance promotion and the number of waste assessments for Customers to be 1941 <br />provided in Agency’s Service Area. For all other Commercial Customers not specified 1942 <br />in the Three-Year Plan, Contractor shall provide technical assistance as needed or 1943 <br />requested and visual on-site Collection Container assessments. Contractor shall 1944 <br />document the names of the Customers receiving the waste assessments, the date of 1945 <br />the assessment, the Solid Waste, Source Separated or Targeted Recyclable 1946 <br />6.2.B. - Page 61
