NOW, THEREFORE; THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The foregoing recitals are, and each of them is, true and correct and the Council so determines. SECTION 2. The Council of the City of Redwood City hereby finds and determines that the public necessity, health, safety and welfare require the establishment of an underground utility district to accomplish the purposes set forth in Resolution No. 7466, adopted August 25, 1975, by said Council, within the area described in "Exhibit A" hereof, attached hereto and incor- porated herein; and this Council hereby further finds and deter- mines that each and all of the following specific matters in furtherance of the general public interest exist with relation to said underground utility district: (a) The under grounding to be accomplished will avoid or eliminate an unusually heavy concentration of over- head distribution facilities; (b) The streets, roads or rights of way in the district are extensively used by the general public and carry a heavy volume of pedestrian and vehicular traffic. SECTION 3. Said district is hereby established and declared formed, and designated as "UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 73-1." The boundaries of the district are hereby fixed SECTION 4. and determined to be as set forth and described in "Exhibit A," attached hereto and incorporated herein. Reference is hereby made to the map of said district boundaries as shown on "Exhibit B," attached hereto and incorporated herein, for a general description of the district. SECTION 5. Pursuant to Section 11.45(c) of the Code of the City of Redwood City, the time within which poles and overhead wires and associated overhead structures shall be removed from all streets, alleys or ways is hereby fixed as 365 calendar days from the effective date of this ordinance. -2-
