<br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. <br /> <br />The foregoing recitals are, and each of them <br /> <br />is, true and correct and the Council so determines. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. <br /> <br />The Council of the City of Redwood City hereby <br /> <br />finds and determines that the public necessity, health, safety <br /> <br />and welfare require the establishment of an underground utility <br /> <br />district to accomplish the purposes set forth in Resolution <br /> <br />No. 7466, adopted August 25, 1975, by said Council, within the <br /> <br />area described in "Exhibit A" hereof, attached hereto and incor- <br /> <br />porated herein; and this Council hereby further finds and deter- <br /> <br />mines that each and all of the following specific matters in <br /> <br />furtherance of the general public interest exist with relation <br /> <br />to said underground utility district: <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />The under grounding to be accomplished will avoid or <br />eliminate an unusually heavy concentration of over- <br />head distribution facilities; <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />The streets, roads or rights of way in the district <br />are extensively used by the general public and carry <br />a heavy volume of pedestrian and vehicular traffic. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. <br /> <br />Said district is hereby established and declared <br /> <br />formed, and designated as "UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 73-1." <br /> <br />The boundaries of the district are hereby fixed <br /> <br />SECTION 4. <br /> <br />and determined to be as set forth and described in "Exhibit A," <br /> <br />attached hereto and incorporated herein. <br /> <br />Reference is hereby made <br /> <br />to the map of said district boundaries as shown on "Exhibit B," <br /> <br />attached hereto and incorporated herein, for a general description <br /> <br />of the district. <br /> <br />SECTION 5. <br /> <br />Pursuant to Section 11.45(c) of the Code of the <br /> <br />City of Redwood City, the time within which poles and overhead <br /> <br />wires and associated overhead structures shall be removed from <br /> <br />all streets, alleys or ways is hereby fixed as 365 calendar days <br /> <br />from the effective date of this ordinance. <br /> <br />-2- <br />
