He also stated that there should be a Precise Plan <br />done that looks at the whole city. <br /> <br />Gail Raabe is very pleased to see housing, it is a plus for the Centennial <br />neighborhood and for businesses downtown. <br /> <br />Rich Schouboe has lived on Alden Street for 18 years and is concerned about <br />the idea of doing a Precise Plan of a very small area and believes that the <br />building at 439 Fuller is so tall and dense and that it may be a predetermination <br />of what might come to Redwood City. <br /> <br />Peggy Bruggman is excited to see changes in the downtown, but the proposed <br />height does not step down and the neighborhood is concerned that they will be <br />walled off from the City. She stated that the Historic Resource Advisory <br />Committee is going to be doing a broader study of her neighborhood to <br />determine its Historic importance. She also said that the City does not have a <br />good idea of what the residents want and the City should not rush forward for a <br />Precise Plan because that would set the tone for any future building. She would <br />like the developer to stay in Redwood City and develop. <br /> <br />Adrian Brandt stated that the project is running the risk of putting the cart before <br />the horse and is setting a precedent for height and that the Fuller Street punch <br />through needs to be thought about. <br /> <br />Kevin Bondonno is very excited to add additional housing to Redwood City and <br />thought that the site would be a great place to add housing. He is very excited <br />about the possible discussions of 14 apartments being set at an affordable rate. <br /> <br />Jim Thompson commented about the square footage and the building would be a <br />horrible site to the neighborhood. He stated that developers should not come in <br />with plans for other people's properties and the figures attached to the staff <br />report do not show what land is owned and the developer does not own some of <br />the property. Staff Williams replied that the applicant does not own the corner <br />going into the street and that the Conceptual Plan is 17,000 square feet, it <br />excludes the road way, and the County's portion needs to become the <br />developers before there can be development. There is no proposal to convey an <br />ownership to the cul-de-sac, and if the other 2 parcels next to the site were <br />included then the property owners would have more of a say. <br /> <br />Kurt Anderson, AlA Anderson Architects, apologized to the Committee stating <br />that it is not their intent to get this specific design approved. The developer <br />would like to have the opportunity to work with staff, Commission and the <br />neighborhood to find out the best use for this property. Mr. Anderson also stated <br />that the developers would like to be a part of dealing with the community and the <br />plan is just a concept and they just want to deal with their site not the other <br />parcels or sites. <br /> <br />Paul Sanfilipo agrees with all the other speakers and he is concerned that the <br />City staff's input was based on the project and the need to look at the City as a <br />whole and what areas need to be changed. The City needs to look at the density <br />and height; there is way too much parking. Mr. Sanfilipo stated if the City was to <br />
