❑ Check for wom or loose impeller
❑ Check all impeller wear rings. (Note: Wear rings are not covered by warranty and must be purchased
by customer if in need of replacement)
❑ Check for noise in upper and lower bearings
❑ Check physically for damage of pump and power cable
❑ Clean, reset, and check operation of level sensors
❑ Check for correct shaft rotation
❑ Reinstall Flygt pump and check for leakage at the discharge connection
❑ Test of pump operation cycle (if level of liquid in station permits)
❑ Check operating of valves and pipes in station
Contractor will review the overall functionality of the pump systems. These systems
checks include, but are not limited to, ensuring the level sensors are functioning properly,
wire terminations are tight and dry, etc.
Contractor will ensure any equipment requiring repairs will be repaired to Factory OEM
standards. Contractor will also ensure that replacement parts for the Flygt pumps
(manufactured by Xylem Water Solutions USA) will be purchased exclusively through an
authorized dealer. Contractor will also ensure that repair parts will be available within one
to two days, if the City does not already have the repair parts available.
Extra Work, which includes unexpected and/or major repair parts, not described in the
Section 2 "Parts List", will be available within three to four weeks.
Contractor will follow all safety protocols at all times, in and around the pump stations, lift
stations, job sites, control panels and operating service equipment. Contractor will:
• Perform pump operational tests to check voltage supply to pump (with pumps
off and when running), check full load amp draw of all phases to ensure balance,
listen to pump running to check for noise that might indicate a bearing or other
issue, all in an effort to identify potential issues that can be further inspected
when the pump is removed from the wet well.
■ Make electrical checks of the pump motor including measuring the resistance
between windings, megging the motor, inspecting the power cable and leads for
damage, checking the pump protection sensor leads and relays (MiniCas
Relays) for proper operation (if applicable), and other electrical checks as
outlined by the 21 -point Checklist (above), all in an effort to identify potential
issues that can be further inspected when the pump is removed from the wet
well.
• Safely remove Flygt pumps for inspection.
• Inspect pumps/mixers for physical wear/damage including impellers, power
cable, lifting handles, volute faces, etc.
REV: 04-05-18 MI
ATTY/AGR/2018.058/SHAPE, INC.
