346 3. Informina Customer of Collection Location Options. Contractor will notify all <br />347 Residential Customers annually of the Special Handling Service and Backyard <br />348 Collection Service options and submit, for approval, a draft notification to <br />349 Agency thirty (30) Days prior to the anticipated date of distribution to <br />350 Customers. New service recipients shall be notified upon signing up for <br />351 Collection service of the Special Handling Service and Backyard Collection <br />352 Service options. <br />353 4. Special Handlina Service Elioibility. Customers desiring Special Handling <br />354 Service will be required to submit an application, in a form approved by <br />355 Agency. Contractor shall review applications to determine whether the <br />356 Customer meets Agency's eligibility criteria and shall provide a written <br />357 response within five (5) Business Days after receipt of the application. Unless <br />358 otherwise directed by Agency, Customers are eligible if they provide (i) <br />359 evidence of their "handicap status" by the California Department of Motor <br />360 Vehicles, or (ii) evidence that no Occupant of the Residential Premises is <br />361 physically able to place Carts Curbside for Collection. On an annual basis, <br />362 Contractor may request reverification of Special Handling Service eligibility <br />363 from Customer. <br />364 B. Multi -Family Dwellings <br />365 1. General. Contractor shall Collect Solid Waste from Multi -Family Dwellings as <br />366 frequently as scheduled by Customer, but not less than once per week, and <br />367 Agency shall bill Customers at Agency -approved Rates. Contractor shall <br />368 provide extra Collection pick-ups of Containers within one (1) Business Day of <br />369 Customer's request and Contractor shall bill Customers at Agency -approved <br />370 Charges specified in Attachment Q. Customers must subscribe to a minimum <br />371 service level of three (3) times per week Collection in order to be eligible for <br />372 Collection on Saturday and/or Sunday. <br />373 2. Containers. Contractor shall allow Multi -Family Dwelling Customers to use <br />374 Carts or Bins for Solid Waste Collection that are shared by the Occupants of <br />375 the Premises. Contractor shall provide one (1) or more Cart(s) or Bin(s) to <br />376 such Customers as requested by Customer, provided that no less than ninety - <br />377 six (96) gallons per week of Container capacity are provided for every five (5) <br />378 dwelling units in the Multi -Family Residential Complex. <br />379 3. General Service Conditions. The standard Rates for Collection services <br />380 assume that Containers are accessible by Contractor's vehicles and personnel. <br />381 If the Container is wheeled and is three (3) cubic yards or less in capacity and <br />382 is not a Compactor, the standard Rate includes Collection from the Container <br />383 located Curbside or in enclosures or on private or public property at a distance <br />384 less than or equal to fifty (50) feet of access by Contractors vehicle, provided <br />385 that access to the Container is paved and the slope is less than seven percent <br />386 (7%). The distance to the Container shall be measured in one of the following <br />387 ways depending on the conditions of the Premises: (i) from the face of the curb <br />388 to the nearest edge of the Container, (ii) if there is no curb, from the edge of the <br />389 roadway nearest the nearest edge of the Container, or (iii) from the lifting <br />390 mechanism on the Collection vehicle if the vehicle can be driven on the <br />391 Premises. <br />REV: 03-16-18 MI <br />Page 12 of 126 <br />ATTY/AGR.2018.054/Recology of San Mateo <br />
