1300 1301 ARTICLE 6 TRANSPORTATION 1302 6.01 TRANSPORTATION OF COLLECTED MATERIALS 1303 Contractor shall transport and deliver all Solid Waste, Source Separated Targeted 1304 Recyclable Materials, Used Motor Oil, Used Motor Oil Filters, Household Batteries, Cell 1305 Phones, Bulky Items, Abandoned Waste, and Organic Materials Collected under this 1306 Agreement to the Designated Transfer and Processing Facility. Once Collected 1307 materials are deposited by Contractor at the Designated Transfer and Processing 1308 Facility, such materials shall become the property of SBWMA or Operator. The 1309 Contractor is not responsible for providing processing services except as provided in 1310 Section 6.04. 1311 6.02 LIMITATIONS ON CONTAMINATION 1312 A. General. The Agency is required by the Act and other State legislation/regulations 1313 (such as, but not limited to, AB 341, AB 1594, AB 1826, SB 1061, and SB 1383) 1314 and its implementing regulations to divert a substantial portion of Solid Waste 1315 generated by residents, businesses, and institutions within its Service Area from 1316 Disposal at a landfill. In order to accomplish this, the Agency, through the SBWMA, 1317 has made a major investment in new recycling equipment and facilities at Shoreway 1318 Recycling and Disposal Center. In order for that equipment to operate efficiently, 1319 the amount of Contamination in loads of Recyclable Materials, Organic Materials, 1320 and Plant Materials delivered to Shoreway Recycling and Disposal Center must be 1321 limited to specific levels. Moreover, higher levels of Contamination can make 1322 processed Recyclable Materials unmarketable or substantially reduce the price that 1323 purchasers are willing to pay. The cost that the SBWMA must charge users of 1324 Shoreway Recycling and Disposal Center (including Agency) is directly affected by 1325 the amount of revenue generated by sales of Recyclable Materials processed by its 1326 Operator. Therefore, for both environmental and financial reasons, it is important 1327 that Contractor place a high priority on ensuring that Contamination in loads of 1328 Recyclable Materials, Plant Materials, and Organic Materials delivered to Shoreway 1329 Recycling and Disposal Center is minimized. Contractor shall work collaboratively 1330 with Agency and SBWMA to accomplish this and will implement the specific 1331 measures described in this Section and Section 6.03. 1332 B. Contamination Levels. The maximum Contamination Levels for each category of 1333 Recyclable Materials, Plant Materials, and Organic Materials are specified in Table 1334 1.
