is periodically reviewed for opportunities to combine or restructure functions for
increased effectiveness and efficiency. As such, in accordance with previous
organizational restructuring, this classification, and the unit it supervises, was
transitioned from the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department to the
Public Works Services Department. When this vacancy occurred, the Public Works
Department took the opportunity to review the current departmental structure and
transition certain duties, and requested the creation of the new classification of Facilities
Maintenance Supervisor to fill the vacancy. It was determined that this classification
would be placed in the Redwood City Management Employees Association (RCMEA)
unit and salary set at median of the market ($9,326-$11,189/month). The City has
reached tentative agreement with RCMEA on the job description and salary range for
this new classification.

Revenue Services Manager
A classification study was performed on delegated on-going responsibilities for the
Senior Accountant assigned to oversee the Revenue Services Division. The study
found that the assigned duties and responsibilities are outside of the scope of the
Senior Accountant position, and the incumbent should be reclassified to Revenue
Services Manager with a new job description to be created. It was determined that this
classification would remain in the Redwood City Management Employees Association
(RCMEA) unit and salary set to the median of the labor market ($11,089-
$13,303/month). The City has reached tentative agreement with RCMEA on the job
description and salary range for this new classification.

Senior Transportation Planner
In December 2017, the full-time classification of Management Analyst was vacated.
When this vacancy occurred, the Community Development Department took the
opportunity to review the current departmental structure and transition certain duties,
and requested the creation of the new classification of Senior Transportation Planner to
fill the vacancy. This new classification will focus on integrated approaches that
support sustainable transportation decisions while addressing mobility, safety,
environmental, social, and economic effects of transportation. It was determined that
this classification would be placed in the Service Employees International Union (SEIU)
unit and salary set at median of the labor market ($9,354-$11,370/month). The City has
reached tentative agreement with SEIU on the job description and salary range for this
new classification.

Graphic Design Specialist
In 2014, a reclassification study was performed for a Library Assistant II who was
delegated graphic design duties. The study found that the incumbent should be
reclassified to a Senior Library Assistant and the graphic design duties added to the job
description for Senior Library Assistant. Recently, an additional classification study was
performed on delegated on-going responsibilities for the Senior Library Assistant who is
assigned graphic design duties. The study found that since 2014, graphic design duties
were only being delegated to the incumbent, and to appropriately classify duties
performed, a new classification of Graphic Design Specialist should be established.
