PR-Tom Passanisi

From: Mohamad Zarringhalam [mzarrin@nikon.com]
Sent: Sunday, July 14, 2002 9:21 AM
To: TPassanisi@redwoodcity.org
Subject: Redwood Shore bay front

Dear Mr. Passanisi :

Thank you for your letter, phone message and e-mail. I would like to re-iterate my
previous e-mail about the Church which is being built in from of my house.

I am a believer in God but I opposed having a church across my house due to the following
reasons :

1. Safety : During high traffic time for church events, attendees will come through our
streets for traffic and parking where our children play . There is not enough parking for
the church. The parking area across from the church is not enough;

2. Noise: In the past 12 years that I have been a residence of Redwood Shores, I have
enjoyed the quiet environment of this neighborhood. Having a church in front of my house
will change that ;

Rather than just complaining , I would like to recommend the following win~win solutions:
1. Make more parking space around and behind the church.

2. Make regulations for church attendees to prohibit their traffic and parking in Gossamer
Cove neighborhood . These could include stickers for Gossamer cove neighborhood cars for
segregation from other traffic, "no church parking" signs on Gossamer cove streets ,
security patrol, etc. To be fair, all of these must be funded by the church organization
or the city, not Gossamer cove residences;

2. Church organization or the city to fund putting speed bumps for Gossamer cove streets
in proximity of church , such as Kockport Avenue where I live;

3. Regulations for noise reduction : Require the church to not be noisy between S p.m. and
8 a.m. on weekdays and during weekends. There could be noise measuring devices installed
in a couple of neighbors' homes ( these are not expensive) to measure noise coming from
the church during big events. Then those neighbors may complain to the church if such
noise levels are exceeded and ask for corrective action.

I appreciate your serious considerations to this matter.

Regards
Mohamad & Marjaneh Zarringhalam
1085 Rockport Avenue
Redwood Skores

Tel : 50S-4604
