I0., 17

Robin Smith, President Sequoia Audubon Society. She is concerned about the
wildlife in the area and where the tanks are going to be built. She is worried
about the truck traffic and disruption during the birds nesting season.

She said the west tree screen would be very detrimental for many of the
shorebirds that use the open water in front of the plan. She said that SBSA has
kept the water at a constant level in the ponds and has been very beneficial to
the birds.

Commissioner Seybert asked Ms. Smith about the west tree screen and he said
that in the list of potential modifications to the plan, staff is recommending that
the west tree screen landscaping be deleted. Commissioner Seybert asked if
that deletion of trees, including the Iow hedges will address her concerns.

Ms. Smith said that it might resolve some of them, but it depends on what type of
Iow hedge is planted: She would recommend that it is native planting.

Commissioner McCoy asked Ms. Smith about the water level in the area. She
asked Ms~ Smith if she was suggesting that SBSA was pumping water in the
area to keep it level.

Ms. Smith said yes.

Don Warren, Representing SBSA, said that there is a misconception that those
ponds are truly natural water. He said that SBSA at some expense pumps
recycled water into those ponds.

Commissioner Paulson asked Ms. Smith if she was satisfied with the way the
north tree screen has been moved closer to the tank. Is Audubon satisfied with
the response?

Leslie Flynn, Audubon Society. She said that the north tree screen does not
affect them.

Don Warren said that there is an internal read and he said that the read is used
for the many SBSA operations. He said that the Heron'and the other birds that
are on the trees do not seem to be affected by the trucks at all.

Gail Stebbins, Board Member of Redwood Shores Owners Association, speaking
on behalf of RSOA. She that the RSOA wants to reiterate that the EIR is
inadequate unless permanent long term parking is provided for the FACC in
accordance with City codes. She said that the current plan only addresses the
usage on Sundays and Tuesday evenings after 6:30 p.m. She said that on Page
60 the EIR acknowledges that the shared parking agreement is a draft parking
agreement but it does not actually specify when the final parking agreement is
going to be presented. She said that the EIR should have included a final and not
a draft parking agreement. She said that there is no street parking and the
streets are very narrow. She is concerned about people parking on the private
streets.
