Where Do We Go From Here? outlines actions to implement the Plan <br />In addition to these chapters, there are six appendices with more detail about how the <br />plan was developed and how it can be implemented: <br />• Appendix A — Existing Conditions <br />• Appendix 8 — Project Prioritization Process and Results <br />• Appendix C — Community Engagement Survey Results <br />• Appendix D — Active Transportation Demand Analysis Methods and Results <br />• Appendix E — Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Program <br />• Appendix F — Recommended General Plan Amendments <br />Reqional Context <br />The regional economy has been growing for more than eight years now. The increasing <br />number of jobs, declining unemployment rates, inadequate housing production, and <br />public transit capacity constraints have resulted in people commuting longer distances. <br />Vehicles are putting more miles on our streets and freeways than ever before. In <br />addition, the strong economy has increased demand for new development, increasing <br />the local daytime and nighttime populations. Throughout this period of growth, Redwood <br />City community members have been increasingly concerned about how this economic <br />growth is impacting the quality of life in Redwood City. Specifically related to <br />transportation, community members have expressed concerns about overall traffic <br />congestion, "cut -through" traffic in residential neighborhoods, pedestrian safety, and <br />access to viable alternatives to driving alone. <br />Previous Council Direction <br />In February 2018, held a study session on the draft Plan and provided feedback to staff. <br />Key input from that study session included: <br />• Further highlight the importance of safety <br />• Revisit how projects are prioritized <br />• Evaluate our progress over time <br />• Incorporate elements to keep the plan relevant in a changing environment <br />A copy of the February staff report is provided as Attachment 2. <br />Complete Streets Advisory Committee <br />In March 2018, the Complete Streets Advisory Committee (CSAC) held a study session <br />to review feedback on the draft Plan and to provide input on proposed Plan <br />
