6.3.B. - Page 3 <br />modifications and on the project prioritization system to better reflect community <br />concerns. <br />ANALYSIS <br />In response to the City Council's feedback on the draft Plan and in consultation with the <br />CSAC, the following changes were incorporated into the Final Plan. <br />Further highlight the importance of safety <br />• Updated the vision statement as follows: <br />"Promote the best travel experience possible for everyone in Redwood City by <br />creating and maintaining a safe, multimodal, safe, and accessible transportation <br />network." <br />• Updated goal statements as follows: <br />o Added a new Goal 1 — Eliminate traffic fatalities and severe iniuries for all <br />modes by 2030 <br />o Revised Goal 2 (was Goal 1): Create a walking and bicycling -friendly <br />community that provides a safe, balanced, and convenient, and safe <br />transportation system. <br />o Revised Goal 5 (was Goal 4): A thieve mode orifit target o Reach over <br />50% of all trips being made by non -driving modes by 2040; most <br />remaining autemobile trips should be shared rides and/or zero emission <br />trips. <br />• Project list was revised to include new projects with safety benefits <br />• Safety is weighted by a factor of 3 when prioritizing projects <br />Revisit how voiects are prioritized <br />• Added weighting factors for the following performance measures: safety (x3), <br />increasing non -driving trips (x2), increasing person throughput (x2) <br />• Added a policy feedback loop <br />o Neighborhood Associations provide input on "Neighborhood Priority <br />Projects" <br />o CSAC provides input on Tier 1, Tier 2, and Signature project lists <br />Evaluate our progress over time <br />• Recommended monitoring projects to evaluate their effectiveness <br />• Added biannual monitoring of the transportation system (see Table 5 in the Plan <br />on page 101) <br />Incorporate elements to keep the plan relevant to the changinq environment <br />0 Added "Emerging Technologies" section in Chapter 2 (page 21) <br />
