following the end of the reporting period. Your organization's reimbursement from Public Allies <br />may be delayed if you do not approve your Member's timesheets and Reflections in the Leadership <br />Journal in a timely manner. <br />Your Member must complete a minimum of 17oo hours of direct service work (in combination with <br />Public Allies' events such as Training/Team Service Days, retreats, etc.) during the ten-month term <br />of service in order to receive his or her Education Award. Your Member is expected to complete at <br />least tsoo hours of service at the Partner Organization. Therefore, it is necessary for Public Allies to <br />keep exact and strict documentation on the number of hours a Member is performing service. Your <br />Member is responsible for submitting the forms in the Leadership Journal online system within 1 <br />business days following the end of the reporting period. <br />Public Allies requires your Member to maintain accurate records of attendance and timeliness. <br />Absenteeism and tardiness may be grounds for penalization. <br />The attendance policy is as follows: <br />Allies must submit an Ally Absence Request Form to request days off for Mondays -Thursday at least <br />two days in advance prior to the days requested. Each Ally is permitted to excused absences. These <br />absences include the combined total of absences at both the Partner Organization and at <br />training/team service days. These absences can be used when Allies are sick or when the Allies need <br />to attend to personal business. As part of the AmeriCorps/Public Allies program, the Ally is not <br />eligible to participate in the Partner Organizations vacation structure. Allies can substitute only two <br />Public Allies Friday training days for Partner Organization training or conference days. <br />If the Allies are absent without approval fromboth the Public Allies Program Manager and Partner <br />Organization Supervisor or without proper notice given, an unexcused absence will be added to the <br />Allies' record. Any unexcused absence is grounds for release from the Public Allies apprenticeship <br />Program <br />6. Office Space <br />You must provide your Member with an appropriate office space. This should include a desk, <br />telephone, internet access and necessary office supplies, a place to put work, and any other office <br />arrangements that will allow a Member to perform to the best of his/her ability. <br />7. Orientation to Partner Organization <br />You must provide your Member with an orientation to your organization. An orientation is <br />important in ensuring a proper understanding of your organization's philosophy, policies and <br />procedures. At this time, you must outline your expectations for your Member. In addition, we <br />request that you introduce your Member to your fellow coworkers and explain Public Allies. <br />S. Member -Staff Relations <br />In order to maintain healthy working relations with the Member placed at your organization, you are <br />required to maintain a professional relationship with the Member.
