9. Release and Dismissal Process <br />In light of the partnership's aim to develop the Member's leadership potential, the Partner Organization is <br />expected tome its best efforts to retain the Member for the term and to communicate with PublicAllies if <br />challenges arise. If you release/dismiss your Member, Public Allies requires you to: <br />• Submit a letter to Public Allies outlining the reasons your Member was dismissed <br />• Complete all required evaluations. <br />Public Allies is not required to consult with a Partner Organization when determining if a Member <br />will be released from the program If a Member is terminated from the Public Allies Apprenticeship <br />program or leaves the Public Allies program for any reason, the Partner Organization may Dot hire or <br />continue employing the Member for a period of six months after the termination. <br />Additional Notes: <br />• Partner Organization will work with Program Manager to do a Professional Improvement <br />Plan (PIP) to help the Ally correct and learn the behavior or tasks that they need to improve. <br />• If the Ally doesn't meet the requirements of the PIP, the Partner Organization can notify the <br />Program Manager and plan the next steps of termination together. <br />10, Special Events <br />On occasion, your Member will be asked to represent Public Allies at special events and other <br />activities. Public Allies will attempt to provide your Member with at least two days prior notice <br />before the scheduled event. It is your Member's responsibility to obtain permission from you. If he or <br />she attends the event without your approval, his or her absence will be wanted as an mmxcused <br />absence. <br />11. Prohibited Activities <br />A. Prohibited Activities -The Member is expected, at all times while acting in an official capacity as <br />an AmeriCorps and Public Allies Member not to engage in any of the following AmeriCorps <br />Prohibited Activities, either directly or indirectly: <br />• Attempting to influence legislation, including but not limited to lobbying for your <br />program or state or local ballot initiatives or organizing a letter -writing campaign to <br />Congress; <br />• Organizing or participating in protests, petitions, boycotts, or strikes; <br />• Assisting, promoting, or deterring union organizing; <br />• Conducting or assisting with a voter registration drive; <br />• Impairing existing contracts for services or collective bargaining agreements; <br />• Engaging in partisan political activities, or other activities designed to influence the <br />outcome of an election to any public office; <br />• Participating in, or endorsing, events or activities that are likely to include advocacy for <br />or against political parties, political platforms, political candidates, proposed legislation, <br />or elected officials; <br />Public Allies Policies and Procedures for PO Supervisors, 2or8-19 <br />Page 17 of 23 <br />REV: 08-17-18 DZ <br />ATTY/AGR.2018.196/Bay Area Community Resources Public Allies FY 2018-19 <br />
