• Engaging in religious instruction, conducting worship services, providing instruction as <br />part of a program that includes mandatory religious instruction or worship, <br />constructing, or operating facilities devoted to religious instruction or worship, <br />maintaining facilities primarily or inherently devoted to religious instruction or worship, <br />or engaging in any form of religious proselytization; <br />• Providing a direct benefit to: <br />o A business organized for profit; <br />o A labor union; <br />o A partisan political organization; <br />o A nonprofit organization that fails to comply with the restrictions contained in <br />section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 related to engaging in <br />political activities or substantial amount of lobbying; <br />o An organization engaged in the religious activities described above, unless CNCS <br />assistance is not used to support those religious activities; <br />• Conducting a voter registration drive or using CNCS funds to conduct a voter registration <br />drive; <br />• Providing abortion services or referrals for receipt of such services; and <br />• Such other activities as CNCS may prohibit. <br />AmeriCorps Members may not engage in the above activities directly or ino lrectlr by <br />reernitinz training. or mananin others for the primary purpose: engaging in one of <br />the activities listed above. Individuals may exercise their rights as private citizens and may <br />participate in the activities listed above on their initiative, on non-AmeriCorps time, and using <br />non -Corporation funds. Individuals should not wear the AmeriCorps logo while doing so. <br />Any hours spent engaging in prohibited activities will result in those hours not being approved or disallowed <br />from being counted toward completion of an AmeriCorps term of service. <br />Fundraising Guidelines: The Public Allies AmeriCorps Member cannot assist Public Allies or your Partner <br />Organization with major fundraising efforts such as proposal writing, Financial campaigns, <br />endowment drives, solicitation of gifts and bequest, or similar activities designed for the sole <br />purpose of raising general oWratine capital. <br />However, the Member is permitted to raise resources for a project that he/she is worldng on that provides <br />immediate and direct support to a specific and direct service activity. Under no <br />cirenmst noes can the member assist with the preparation or submission of any grants to the <br />Corporation for National and Community Service or any other federal agency. The Member <br />cannot raise funds to support the cost of his/her own position. Furthermore, the <br />Member may not spend more than 1o% of his/her total hours on approved <br />fundraising activities. Any fundraising activities must be discussed with and <br />pre -approved by the Public Allies Program Manager. <br />12. Grievance Procedure <br />A.
