<br />SCOPE OF WORK: <br /> <br />Kennedy/Jenks Consultants ("Consultant") shall provide professional and technical <br />services for final design including preparation of plans, specifications and contract <br />documents; and office engineering assistance during bidding to complete the Project as <br />described herein. <br /> <br />The Consultant will directly subconsult for aerial photography and mapping, supplemental <br />surveying, potholing existing utilities, and geotechnical review. The City will contract with <br />other consultants/providers for reproduction of bidding documents. The Consultant will <br />coordinate with the City staff, consultants and service providers. <br /> <br />The City will provide traffic control and street opening permits as required by Consultant <br />during design for streets within the City of Redwood City and within the City of San <br />Carlos. <br /> <br />Design of recycled water customers onsite retrofit facilities and major utility relocations, <br />and investigations of right-of-way acquisition and hazardous materials are not included in <br />the scope of work. The locations of the laterals will be coordinated with the retrofit work. <br />The City will investigate rights-of-way acquisition and will obtain necessary easements. <br /> <br />The following items would constitute a change in the scope of work and so would require <br />a modification to the budget: <br /> <br />. Delays in schedule. <br /> <br />. Increases in pipeline lengths. <br /> <br />. Increase in number of laterals. <br /> <br />. Permitting, other than permitting for Union Pacific Railroad, Caltrans, and City of <br />San Carlos rights-of-way. <br /> <br />Task 1 - Project Management <br /> <br />This task includes project management and administrative services necessary to <br />complete the tasks defined in this scope of services (Tasks 2 to 5). These tasks include <br />managing in-house staff and subconsultants; monitoring the scope, schedule and budget; <br />planning and monitoring project activities; and preparing monthly budget status reports <br />including invoices for services. If the project work extends beyond 10 months, or if the <br />scope of services is increased, a budget augmentation will be required for project <br />management. <br /> <br />Task 1.1 - Work Plan and Invoices <br /> <br />Consultant shall prepare a work plan for the Project, including a quality assurance plan. <br />Consultant shall also prepare monthly invoices, including a brief summary of the project <br />status, and will provide monthly updates to the project web site. <br /> <br />5 <br /> <br />sllibrary/agreements/consultants/consultant_kennedYJenks_Exhibit A_BP 4 & 5 <br />
