6.B. - Page 112 of 366 <br />TENTATIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />AND REDWOOD CITY POLICE SUPERVISORS ASSOCIATION (RCPSA) <br />RE: 2018 SUCCESSOR MOU NEGOTIATIONS <br />o Police Liaison (Downtown Services Unit, Traffic, Training, eir ,.1.,..eeti , <br />TaskForc-e, she!! feeeripayof rive v „t (5- _) of th-e <br />empleyee'sbase pay. <br />7.5.2 Shift Differential <br />Police Sergeants who are regularly assigned to swing shift (C -Watch), night shift <br />(A -Watch), or who are assigned as the relief sergeant shall receive premium pay <br />in the amount of five percent (5%) of the employee's base pay. Any employee <br />who is placed on a modified schedule shall receive five percent (5%) premium pay <br />if the majority of their assigned hours fall between the hours of 2:00 pm and 6:00 <br />am. <br />7.6 Court Pay <br />An off-duty employee who is subpoenaed to appear in court in cases in which the City is a <br />party shall be compensated at one and one-half (1.5) times the employee's regular straight - <br />time rate for all hours the employee is so ordered by the City to appear with a minimum of <br />three (3) hours. The exceptions will be for those employees whose shift begins less than <br />three (3) hours before the subpoenaed time of appearance, or appears by telephone. <br />Any employee who is subpoenaed to court less than three (3) hours before the start of their <br />scheduled shift shall be compensated for the amount of time before the actual shift begins. <br />The three (3) hour court minimum will not apply. <br />Any off duty employee subpoenaed to a hearing in which their appearance is accomplished <br />by telephone have two options. First, they may appear at the Redwood City Police <br />Department and telephone the hearing officer from the police department and receive <br />compensation as if they attended court in person with a three (3) hour minimum. Or <br />second, they may make the telephone call from any location they wish and receive <br />compensation for the duration of their call or a court minimum of two (2) hours for this <br />type of appearance. <br />The employee shall be compensated at one and one-half (1.5) times the employee's regular <br />straight -time rate of pay for hours worked in excess of his/her regularly scheduled hours <br />and for hours he/she is required to spend attending court proceedings. <br />Police Sergeants are to receive three-quarters of one percent (0.75%) adjustment to base <br />salary in lieu of a fourth hour of court pay. <br />7.7 Uniform Allowance and Safety Equipment <br />Body armor shall not be required unless a Police Sergeant or Police Lieutenant is working <br />in uniform in an enforcement capacity or taking part in Department range training. For the <br />purposes of this section, Police Sergeants and Police Lieutenants are not considered to be <br />working in an enforcement capacity when appearing in court. <br />Police Sergeants assigned as a Detective Sergeant or Police Lieutenants assigned as the <br />Investigations Division Commander shall not be required to wear body armor unless they <br />11 <br />
