6.B. - Page 122 of 366 <br />TENTATIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />AND REDWOOD CITY POLICE SUPERVISORS ASSOCIATION (RCPSA) <br />RE: 2018 SUCCESSOR MOU NEGOTIATIONS <br />d. Traffic Sergeant <br />e. Downtown Services Unit Sergeant <br />f. Narcotics Task Force Sergeant <br />8.4.3 Employees holding the rank of Police Lieutenant will be assigned by the Chief of <br />Police or his/her designee to one of four (4) positions: Investigations Commander, <br />Administrative Lieutenant, Patrol Watch Commander weekday shift, and Patrol <br />Watch Commander weekend shift. <br />Police Lieutenants shall have the option to submit assignment preference requests <br />to the Chief of Police or his/her designee on an annual basis. Where feasible, the <br />Chief of Police shall endeavor to facilitate assignment rotations every three (3) <br />years, based on the needs of the organization, the availability of qualified <br />personnel, and employee preferences. <br />SECTION 9. LEAVES <br />9.1 Sick Leave <br />9�1-- Ef0eeti ^ Co eil a of a nt ulaF9.1.1 Regular full- <br />time <br />r <br />time and probationary employees that are assigned on a regular basis to work a <br />twelve and one-half (12.5) hour shift shall accrue sick leave at the rate of twelve <br />and one-half (12.5) hours per month, provided they have worked one hundred sixty <br />(160) hours that month, to a maximum of one thousand three -hundred and seventy <br />(1370) hours. Working a twelve and one-half (12.5) hour shift on a regular basis <br />is defined as being assigned to a twelve and one-half (12.5) hour shift through the <br />department's regular shift bidding process or administrative assignment. <br />Employees that do not normally work a twelve and one-half (12.5) hour shift are <br />not eligible for the twelve and one-half (12.5) hour sick leave accrual. <br />All other regular full-time and probationary employees shall accrue sick leave at <br />the rate of ten (10) hours per month, provided they have worked one hundred sixty <br />(160) hours that month, to a maximum of one thousand three -hundred and seventy <br />(1370) hours. <br />.Sick leave usage shall not be considered as a privilege, which an employee may <br />use at his or her discretion, but shall be allowed only in case of necessity of actual <br />sickness or disability. <br />Charge for sick leave used shall be on the basis of one (1) hour for each hour used; <br />provided however, that sick leave shall be charged for only those hours when the <br />employee was absent from work. Sick leave may not be used before it is earned. <br />At the City's request, an employee who has been absent more than three (3) days <br />must file with the City a statement by a person licensed io p,. etiee fnediei o <br />dentistFymedical practitioner that the employee was under said doctor's care while <br />absent. When an employee returns to work after any absence chargeable to sick <br />leave or as a result of an industrial absence or illness, the City may require a <br />statement from a physician that the employee is in fit physical condition to perform <br />21 <br />
