6.B. - Page 158 of 366 <br />authorized. When an employee is in a non -pay status for an entire pay <br />period, no deductions will be made to cover that pay period. In the case of <br />an employee who is in a non -pay status during a part of the pay period <br />and the salary is not sufficient to cover the full withholding, no deduction <br />shall be made. In this connection, all required deductions have priority <br />over the Association deduction. The City shall provide _ notice to the <br />Association of Tnj member that is in a non -paid status to afford the <br />Association an opportunity to collect its payroll „ deductions from the <br />employee. <br />If an em to ee member in the bargaining unit desires to revoke cancel or <br />chane prior dues deduction authorization the City shall direct the <br />employee member to the Association, If the employee then revokes, <br />cancels or changes his or her dues deduction authorization the <br />Association shall immediately notify the City of the revocation, <br />cancelation or char e. Any such dues deduction revocation cancellation <br />and/or change shall be effective in the first full pay period following the <br />Association's notice to the City regarding the revocation, cancellation or <br />change. If a dispute arises about the existence or terms of an individual <br />authorization, the Association shall provide a copy of the authorization to <br />the City upon its request. <br />The Association hereby agrees to indemnify, defend and hold the City <br />harmless against any claim made and against any suit initiated against the <br />City on account of check off of Association dues. In addition, the <br />Association shall refund to the City any amount paid to it in error upon <br />presentation of supporting evidence. <br />It is understood that all bargaining unit members may decline „to join the <br />Association.
