Two administrative holidays beginning effective January 1, 2012, and such <br />other days as may be proclaimed local holidays. <br />If one of the holidays listed above falls during the employee's vacation or on an <br />employee's day off or if an employee is scheduled or required to work on a <br />holiday, the employee shall be allowed a regular workday off at a time determined <br />by agreement between the employee and the Department Head. If the Department <br />Head determines that it is not feasible to grant such other workday off, the <br />employee shall be paid for the holiday on the basis of time and one-half (1-112) <br />but not to exceed ten (10) hours for any one (1) holiday. <br />In the event any of the holidays specified in this section occurs while an employee <br />is on vacation or sick leave, the holiday shall not be charged as vacation or sick <br />leave. <br />A holiday that falls on Saturday shall be celebrated on Friday and a holiday that <br />falls on Sunday shall be celebrated on Monday. <br />In the event that any Administrative Holiday has not been used by the last pay <br />period in the year (based on the preceding twenty-si26) pay periods), payment <br />will be made no later than the first pay period in February. <br />7.15 Vacations <br />7.15.1 <br />The times during the calendar year at which an employee shall take <br />vacation shall be determined by the Police Chief or designated <br />representative with due regard to the wishes of the employee and <br />particular regard to the need of the service.
