Method to determine peak flow rates to aid in calculating depth of flow in
the street during 2-, 5-, 10- and 100 -year storm events. CONSULTANT
will use the 100 -year storm event to check City drainage criteria to contain
flow within the right-of-way.
In order to determine the footprint of storm water management measures,
CONSULTANT will calculate the volume of flow generated during each design storm
event, and will use the 6 -hour storm duration depths for each recurrence interval to
determine volume needed to be contained. CONSULTANT will use Attachment G of
Redwood City Design Criteria for rainfall data.
Deliverables: Drainage Map (PDF format)
TASK 2 — SURVEY AND GEOTECHNICAL INVESTIGATION
2.1 Ground Survey: CONSULTANT will plan on conducting full topographic
survey of the intersection of Oakwood Drive with East Oakwood
Boulevard. This will include surveying:
a. 100 -feet of Oakwood Drive, and
b. 100 -feet of East Oakwood Boulevard, at the intersection
CONSULTANT will perform conventional ground topographic survey of the
existing surface improvements using GPS RTK survey. The survey
horizontal datum will be on CA State Plan Zone III and the vertical datum
will be on NAVD88. If we cannot obtain GPS signal, CONSULTANT will
place the survey on an assumed datum and provide control information to
aid in preparing future bid documents. Prior to scheduling survey,
CONSULTANT will request USA to mark utilities so that CONSULTANT'S
survey crew can pick-up the paint markings and place it on the
topographic map. The intersection topographic survey will include:
a. Surface materials including edge of pavement, flow lines, grade
breaks, grades along right-of-way and edge of fence or
landscape/partition walls
b. Sanitary sewer manhole rim elevations, pipe inverts at manhole, pipe
diameters, sanitary sewer lateral cleanouts and sanitary sewer lines.
c. Storm drain or storm sewer manhole rim elevations, pipe inverts at
manhole, pipe diameters, drain inlets bottom, drain inlets pipe inverts,
catch basin grate elevations and storm drain lines.
d. Water valve boxes, meter boxes, anode boxes, fire hydrants and water
lines.
e. Gas valve boxes and gas lines.
f. Traffic signal boxes, street light boxes, utility vaults, electrical poles,
loop detectors, traffic sign posts, street lights, and electrical lines.
g.
