TASK 3 —100%a DESIGN DRAWINGS
Using the ground survey prepared under Task 2 and the storage area calculated under
Task 1, CONSULTANT will optimize the layout and configuration of storm water
measures such as bio -retention areas, pervious parking shoulders, sub -surface storage
using shallow infiltration gravel trenches and dry wells or a combination of the above.
CONSULTANT will optimize the design and layout/configuration using the following
initial set of rules for acceptable types of measures to propose:
a. Measures that avoid above and below ground utility relocations to the extent feasible
and fit within the limits of detailed survey under Task 2
b. Measures that do not require underground pipes and inlets or rebuilding of street
profile
c. Measures that provide shallow ponding in vegetated areas and minimize depth of
excavation
d. Measures that meet green infrastructure requirements
e. Measures that meet pedestrian and traffic safety standards and improves circulation
f. Measures that require low maintenance and no irrigation once established.
Based on the optimization results, CONSULTANT will discuss with CITY up to two
feasible alternatives. After CITY has an opportunity to consider options using feedback
received from residents, CONSULTANT will prepare one conceptual plan to present to
residents. The conceptual plan will show layout with aerial image and survey
background along with typical cross-sections.
Following CITY'S meeting with residents, CONSULTANT will begin incorporating
feedback received on concept plans, and will start preparing 100% design drawings.
CONSULTANT will prepare the plan -set to include the following drawing sheets:
a. Existing Conditions Sheet — This will be a compilation of detailed topographic
survey, boundary and easement survey (provided by CITY), above and below
ground utility survey, and other existing surface improvements.
b. Site Plan and Layout Sheets — This will include layout of proposed improvements on
a large scale view with zoomed in inset(s) as needed to provide more details at any
specific location. It will also include aerial imagery, utilities, surface improvements
(such pavement, driveways, fences/walls, etc), ground survey contours, and
property lines. This will show existing improvements that need to be demolished and
utilities that may need to be relocated.
c. Grading Plan Sheet — This will include limits of grading, saw cut limits, existing
shoulder flow line adjustments, and spot elevations.
d. Typical Sections Sheets — This will include cross-sectional view and dimension of
storm water retrofit measures and will show how these improvements will fit into
existing right-of-way.
e. Specifications — CONSULTANT will prepare and provide technical specifications.
CITY will be responsible for incorporating technical specifications into CITY'S boiler
plate specifications and preparing bid package.
REV: 10-12-18 PR
ATTY/AGR.2018.246/BKF Engineers - Oakwood Drainage Management
