Accept the construction improvements for 1100 Veterans Boulevard (Kaiser Hospital), and authorize the release of bonds in accordance with the Agreement for Construction of Improvements; 2. Approve the Parcel Map for the lot merger at 1100 Veterans Boulevard; 3. Approve and authorize the City Manager to execute a Grant of Revocable Encroachment Permit for the construction of underground conduits with communication and storm drain lines with Kaiser Foundation Hospitals. STRATEGIC INITIATIVE Economic Development BACKGROUND On July 26, 2010, City Council approved an Agreement for Construction of Improvements for the Kaiser Phase 1 Hospital Replacement Project located at 1100 Veterans Boulevard. As the first phase of development at the Kaiser Hospital Downtown Medical Campus, the hospital replacement project involved construction of a 280,000 square foot hospital, 16,000 square foot central utility plant, on-site improvements and off-site improvements including changes to Walnut Street, Veterans Boulevard, and Maple Street. This work was located in the Kaiser Downtown Medical Campus Precise Plan area. As part of the changes to Walnut Street, on December 12, 2011, the City Council approved the vacation of portions of Walnut Street to allow for reconstruction of a narrower roadway.
