The CCC is responsible for supporting and enhancing cultural life in Redwood City. It <br />works toward this goal through the following roles: <br />• Advocate: Promoting events, arts, and related programs <br />• Funder: Allocating grants <br />• Broker: Bringing groups together to support the arts <br />• Provider: Supporting concert series, art contests, public art <br />The powers and duties of the Civic Cultural Commission are found in Sec. 2.113 of the Municipal Code. <br />Duties include recommendations to the City Council or to the City Manager regarding: <br />• The establishment of programs stimulating and encouraging the development and maintenance of <br />the performing and visual arts in the City and to review periodically such programs; <br />• The establishment of programs memorializing or giving recognition to matters of cultural <br />significance in the City and to review periodically such programs; <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.ore <br />6 <br />
