Albanese, Inc.is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder <br />Staff has evaluated the bids and has determined that the low bid of $3,903,165.00 submitted by Joseph J. <br />Albanese, Inc. is approximately 10% higher than the high engineer's estimate of $3,546,000.00. Joseph J. <br />Albanese, Inc. has successfully completed similar projects in the past and is a qualified contractor. Based <br />on the bids received, staff believes that the low bid is reasonable and recommends awarding the standard <br />construction contract Agreement to Joseph J. Albanese, Inc. <br />Construction is expected to begin at the beginning of April 2019, and conclude within approximately <br />seven months. Notice will be given to the public as the contractor is obligated to provide notice to <br />residents and businesses in the project area two weeks prior to the start of work. Signage that contains <br />project information will be posted at the construction site and construction updates will be available on <br />the City's website. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />The US -101 Pedestrian Undercrossing Project was included in the Capital Improvement Program Budget <br />for Fiscal year 2018-2019 under the Measure A Fund and a $500,000 grant award from the San Mateo <br />County Transportation Authority (TA) was included in the Fiscal Year 2018-2019 revenue budget for the <br />same fund. This grant includes an 83 percent match in City funds.
