The survey will be completed over a one-day period, <br /> <br />. Up to 35 bulk samples of building materials will be collected and analyzed for <br />asbestos by polarized light microscopy, and <br /> <br />. Up to 1 00 paint samples will be screened in place with an XRF device for lead. <br /> <br />If additional time andlor samples appear to be necessary to complete the survey, we will <br />notify the MHASMC immediately and obtain your authorization in advance. Costs for analysis of <br />additional ACM samples will be approximately $25/sample. <br /> <br />Task 3 - Site Investigation <br /> <br />Based on the apparent historic site uses and our review of the JCP report, Fugro <br />proposes to conduct a focused soil and groundwater investigation at the site. At this time, Fugro <br />proposes to collect soil and groundwater samples from up to three probe locations. In addition, <br />Fugro will collect 4 surface soil samples using hand-sampling techniques. Investigation activities <br />will include the following: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Conducting a utility survey at proposed drilling locations and notifying Underground <br />Service Alert (USA) prior to drilling; <br /> <br />Procuring appropriate permits from the San Mateo County Public Works prior to <br />drilling. The owner or the owner's representative will be requested to sign the permit. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Drilling and sampling of up to three (3) soil probes to depths of approximately 15 to <br />20 feet bgs to facilitate groundwater sampling. Probes will be continuously sampled. <br />Collect four (4) surface soil samples using hand-sampling techniques. Fugro's field <br />geologist/engineer will screen soil samples in the field using an organic vapor meter <br />(OVM) and log samples in accordance with the Unified Soil Clarification System <br />(USeS); and <br /> <br />Conducting chemical analyses, including 3 soil samples and 3 groundwater samples. <br />Soil and groundwater samples will be tested for some or all of the following: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />}> Total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline using EPA Test Method 8015; <br /> <br />}> Total Petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel fuel (TPHd) and motor oil (TPHmo) with <br />silica gel clean-up using EP A Test Method 8015; <br /> <br />}> Volatile organic compounds (VeGs) using EPA Test Method 8260, <br /> <br />;> 17 Metals using EPA Test Method 6010nOOO, and <br /> <br />Þ> Total lead EPA Test Method 6010. <br /> <br />G_\PRoPOseo W0RJ<\2006,06-QO6\I12 CeDAR AAOPOSAUJOC <br /> <br />3 <br />
