Consultant's Construction Manager will assist the City's Construction Inspector to <br />coordinate with business and property owners along the project route as well as the <br />Contractor so that businesses and residences are notified in advance when any work <br />along their driveway entrances are scheduled. Consultant will verify that sufficient <br />notifications are provided to businesses and property owners regarding upcoming work <br />hours and activities and will coordinate with the City's Construction Inspector to ensure <br />the Contractor performs the work when scheduled and provide updates to residents and <br />businesses owners of schedule changes. <br />Consultant will ensure that the City's Construction Inspector continuously monitors the <br />Contractor's traffic control measures and ensures they are in place before the start of <br />each work day, maintained throughout the work day, and in place at the end of each <br />work day. This will include ensuring the Contractor provides all the required notification <br />signage and the appropriate number of flagmen. If necessary, Consultant will request <br />police patrols to enforce safe traffic speeds during construction throughout the project <br />limits. <br />Communicate with the City's Construction Inspector and confirm that all special <br />inspection necessary such as compaction testing of subgrade or asphaltic concrete (AC) <br />or laboratory material testing of concrete and/or AC are being performed as required by <br />the Project's contract documents. Review laboratory test results and coordinate with the <br />City, Design Team, and Utility companies related to results that do not meet project <br />specifications. <br />• Coordinate with the City's Construction Inspector for documentation of measurement / <br />quantities of materials placed or installed. Review, verify, and process the Contractor's <br />progress payments and provide recommendations to the City for action. Payment <br />requests that must be returned to the Contractor will include a written explanation of any <br />deficiencies in the payment request. <br />• Prepare and distribute reimbursement invoicing to participating utility companies. <br />• Maintain frequent communication and provide as -needed coordination with the private <br />utilities, Caltrans, and UPRR, including but not limited to the following: <br />o installation of termination cans and services for each resident or business <br />o completion and sign off of all underground boxes, vaults, and conduits and provide <br />detailed measurements and quantities to participating utility companies. <br />o "cut -over' from overhead services to underground services, informing property <br />owners of temporary loss of service. <br />o removal of existing overhead facilities and utility poles. <br />• Coordinate with the City's Construction Inspector, contractor, and utility companies to <br />ensure trenches are backfilled and compacted per City standard details and the proper <br />surface improvements upon completion of joint trench work and removal of utility poles. <br />REV: 01-23-19 PR <br />Page 12 of 14 <br />ATTY/AGR.2019.022/4Leaf, Inc.
