+z 4 - Districts 1, 3, 6, 7 seem relatively well formed and take into account unique <br />constituencies. Districts 2, 4, and 5 seem excessively skinny, and would make more sense as <br />Downtown, East -Side, West -Side. I think a Citizen Commission is a good idea only if given <br />appropriate power, <br />+2 5 - Currently city council is overwhelmingly white, above 50, and homeowning. This does <br />not reflect the population. A citizen commission can give informed input even without being <br />experts. <br />+1 4 should use a hybrid commission with more citizens than council for final vote <br />R S. New council members notwithstanding, history had shown Redwood City council <br />members to have their own agendas. We need to safeguard the redistricting. <br />+1 4 the process used by the state seems quite reasonable; hopefully when politics <br />favor/disfavor breaking up a community, the partisans will cancel out and the guideline to <br />preserve communities will prevail. Would vote 2 if we got the bare fact of a citizen <br />commission without the process. <br />R 5.
