R 5 it would be a massive conflict of interest otherwise
9 5 obviously city council is biased
+7 5 let's make sure to avoid Gerrymandering
R 5 Agree, but who chooses the citizen commission? Hopefully not the council members or
any politicians. This has to be done solely by disinterested parties.
+1 S. Citizens should always draw councils so they are fair.
+7 5. But I doubt it will ever happen. They asked for our input, but they have no intention of
using it. They do what they want, regardless of citizen input.
+7 5 why not a mixed group of citizens and council members. If it's one or the other I think
citizens should.
+1 S. City residents know their city. This is not an issue of expertise.
A 5 - https://www.redwoodcity.org/departments/city-clerk/district-elections shows the
evolution from Eddy Yerentov's relatively pure 7-013 original map, to the B map with a west
side gerrymander in district 2, to the f map allowing 4 council members from NW RWC.
Council cannot be trusted in this process.
R 5 citizen's commission is more democratic
+1 5 why not let the citizen of RC have more say with the vitiates rules/regulations .... get
more involvement
4 Sure, I guess. I think if the council drew it without input it would probably come out fair
5, but with input from the City Council
