6.K. - Page 21 of 190 <br />SECTION 5 — UNION REPRESENTATIVES <br />5.1 Attendance at Meetings by Employees and Stewards <br />City employees who are official representatives or unit representatives of the <br />Union shall be given reasonable time off with pay to attend meetings with <br />management representatives, or to be present at hearings where matters <br />within the scope of representation or grievances are being considered. The use <br />of official time for this purpose shall be reasonable and shall not interfere with <br />the performance of City services as determined by the City Personnel Officer or <br />the Fire Chief. Such employee representatives shall submit a written request <br />for excused absence to the Fire Chief or his/her designated representative with <br />information copy to the City Manager, at least two (2) working days prior to the <br />scheduled meeting, unless waived by the Fire Chief. Except by mutual <br />agreement, the number of employees excused for such purposes shall not <br />exceed three (3). The Union may provide one (1) steward for each shift. <br />SECTION 6 — NO STRIKE <br />The Union, its members and representatives, agree that it and they will not engage in, <br />authorize, sanction, or support any strike, slowdown, stoppage of work, curtailment of <br />production, concerted refusal of overtime work, refusal to operate designated equipment <br />(provided such equipment is safe and sound) or to perform customary duties; and <br />neither the Union, nor any representatives thereof, shall engage in job action for the <br />purpose of effecting changes in the directives or decisions of management of the City, <br />nor to effect a change of personnel or operations of management or of employees not <br />covered by this MOU. <br />SECTION 7 — PAY <br />7.1 Pay Period <br />Employees shall be paid bi-weekly. <br />Ali employees shall be <br />su_bjec a`to mandatory direct deposit. . <br />7.2 Salaries <br />The City will conduct salary surveys annually to include factors traditionally <br />taken into consideration in the determination of wages, hours and other terms <br />and conditions of public and private employment including, but not limited to, <br />changes in the average Consumer Price Index for goods and services, the <br />wages, hours and other terms or conditions of employment of other employees <br />performing similar services, and the financial condition of the City. <br />to <br />264 <br />
