6.K. - Page 25 of 190 <br />7.4 Starting Time <br />The regular starting time for Fire Fighter/Engineers and Fire Captains scheduled <br />for a fifty-six (56) hour workweek shall be 8.00 A.M. <br />7.5 Overtime <br />7.5.1 Fifty-six (56) Hour Workweek Employees <br />Far the 2ur oses of this MOU, _oOvertime for employees in the <br />classifications of Fire Fighter/Engineer and Fire Captain is authorized <br />time worked beyond the employee's regularly scheduled <br />hours in Section 7.3. Overtime shall be compensated at one and <br />one-half (1 r>.) times the employee's regular rate of pay for any <br />time worked beyond a Fire Fighter/Engineer or Fire Captain's <br />regular twenty-four (24) hour work shift. For the purposes of this <br />IOU time Rregular rate of pay shall be defined as the 2mployee's <br />ase hourly rate of pay- -based on a 56 hour work week (112 hours <br />per pay periods and includin incentives or other forms of a <br />(paramedic-Pay,s ecial e ui ment o erator <br />(fire boat pilot, incentive, educational incentive, EMT incentive, <br />bilingual differential, holiday compensation), <br />be <br />IT1LlSt <br />authorized by the Fire Chief, or designated representative, prior to <br />such overtime being worked. <br />For the purposes of calculating overtime under the Fair labor <br />Standards Act CIFILSAD, the City has adopted a twenty-four (24) - <br />day work period, pursuant to 29 U.S.C. §2007(k), to which J+Shift <br />Employees are subject. <br />7.5.2 Compensatory Time <br />Upon request, employees shall be compensated for saw -overtime in <br />compensatory time off'. An employee's compensatory time off <br />CTO balance shall not exceed seventy-two (72) hours at any given <br />time. CTO shall not be earned for work nerformPri that is <br />backfilling for employees on strike teams. Effective May 31 2020 <br />the parties shall reopen on the issue of CTO. <br />7.5.3 Forty(40) Hour Workweek Employees <br />For the purposes of this MOU, t avertime for employees in the <br />classification of Deputy Fire Marshal and Fire Prevention Officer is <br />authorized time worked beyond forty (40) hours in paid status in <br />one (1) seven 7 -da work week, and for work performed in <br />excess of eight (8) consecutive hours in one (1) day (exclusive of <br />14 <br />268 <br />
