6.K. - Page 29 of 190 <br />7.7 Court Pay <br />An off-duty employee who is subpoenaed to appear in court due to a <br />summons to testify as a witness in a matter regarding an event or transaction <br />which the employee perceived or investigated in the course of his or her City <br />job duties or at a coroner's inquest shall be compensated at one and one-half <br />(1-1/2) times his/her regular straight -time rate for all hours the employee is <br />so ordered to appear with a minimum of four (4) hours. Any fees received by <br />the employee for their testimony will be turned into the City for deposit into <br />the general fund. <br />7.8 Call-back Pay <br />If a regular classified employee of the Fire Department, who has completed <br />the normal shift or tour of duty, is called back to work, that employee shall, <br />upon reporting for duty, receive a minimum of three (3) hours' work at the <br />employee's overtime rate. Vic, i =ce <br />Work in excess of three 3 hours will be paid at the emlee's <br />overtime rate. This provision does not apply to instances in which the <br />employee is required to continue to remain on duty after completion of a <br />normal shift or tour of duty. <br />7.9 On Call Pay <br />Forty. (40' -hour workweek employees may occasionally be offered, and may <br />accept the offer, to be "on call". On call pay and on call schedules are subject <br />to the prior approval of the Fire Chief. For every twenty-four (24) hours <br />assigned to on call duty, 40 -hour workweek employees shall be compensated <br />y p, itii_three (3) hours straight -time pay or three (3) hours of straight time <br />compensatory time off. The 24-hour on call duty shall begin at 8:00 a.m. and <br />end at 8:00 a.m. on the following day. If, while serving on call, the employee <br />is called in to work, the employee shall receive pay for the hours worked. <br />This shall be in addition to the three 3 hours of straight time pay <br />compensaton/ time off received while on call. <br />Em to ees who receive on call pay shall be required to answer their phones or <br />return missed calls within ten (10) minutes.
