6.K. - Page 44 of 190 <br />11.2 Promotional Probation <br />All promotional appointments shall be tentative and subject to a probationary <br />period of twelve (12) months of service from the date of appointment. During <br />the probationary period, an employee may be rejected at any time by the City <br />Manager upon recommendation of the Fire Chief. Any regular employee <br />rejected during the probationary period following a promotional appointment <br />shall be reinstated to the position from which he/she was promoted, unless <br />conditions warrant his/her dismissal. <br />Upon satisfactory completion of such probationary period, the employee shall <br />be appointed to a regular position in that classification. <br />SECTION 12 — STATION BIDDING <br />The bidding procedure for 2014 shall continue during the term of the MOU, unless the <br />parties mutually agree to modify the procedure. <br />SECTION 13 - PROMOTION <br />13.1 Examination <br />In the event the City desires to fill a vacancy by promotion, the Personnel <br />Officer shall prepare and administer an examination for those employees <br />holding similar positions in lower classes. <br />13.2 Eligible List <br />The names of the successful candidates shall be recorded in the order of their <br />standing in the examination on an eligible list. The Human Resources <br />Department shall provide to the Fire Department and Fire Union a list of the <br />Fire Captain candidates from the eligibility list to include candidate name and <br />rank position. No scores will be provided. <br />13.3 Promotional Appointment <br />Promotional appointments shall be made from the first three (3) candidates on <br />the eligible list who are ready and willing to accept the position offered. <br />13.4 Duration of Eligible List <br />Eligible lists shall continue in effect one (1) year after establishment. They may <br />be extended for a period of not to exceed one (1) year or abolished before the <br />expiration of the yearly period by the Personnel Officer upon recommendation <br />of the Fire Chief. <br />33 <br />287 <br />
