6.K. - Page 69 of 190 <br />18.15 Integration with Long Term Disability Plan <br />At the point an employee, who is on leave for a non -industrial injury or illness, <br />qualifies for integration of sick leave benefits through his/her Long Term <br />Disability (LTD) Plan, the employee may elect to choose one of the integration <br />options available to them through their plan. Please refer to LTD plan <br />document for option details. <br />18.16 Outside Schooling <br />Effective the first pay period following ratification and City Council approval of <br />this 2019 successor MOU between the parties, all em.plo eY es represented by the <br />bargaining unit will be permitted to take up to thirty six (36) hours per fiscal year <br />of leave to attend job-related classes, subject to em.glovee request and advance <br />approval of classes and leave time by the Fire Chief. The hours taken per <br />employee may be taken in blocks of less than twee -four 24 hours. <br />Upon request from the employee, the Training Officer may approve an additional <br />twelve (12) hours of outside schooling leave within a fiscal year, <br />SECTION 19 — HEALTH AND CAFETERIA PLAN <br />19.1 Health and Cafeteria Plan <br />19.1.1 The City e contracts with The California Public Employee's <br />Retirement System (PERS) for participation under the Public <br />Employees Medical and Hospital Care Act PEMHCA (Government <br />Code Section 22750, et seq.) for the purpase of providing medical <br />insurance benefits foremployees. <br />19.1.2 The City's maximumz monthly contribution for each eligible, active <br />employee as referenced in Government Code 22992---�-Rd <br />affft'r for the purchase of medical insurance will be equal to the <br />minimum monthly employer contribution required under PEMHCA <br />a�usted annually by the �;aIPERS board to reflect any change to <br />the medical care component of the Consumer Price index. <br />19, 1. 73 The health benefit plausoffered shall be those of the Galifernia <br />_ CaIPERQ provided however, <br />upon the request of the Ci ur Union, the parties will re -open this <br />Article 19,1. to meet and confer on modi in 19.1. to provide a <br />different group health plan..
