The Water
System Master Plan forecasts water system improvements necessary to accommodate water demand by
new development and redevelopment activities anticipated by the City's General Plan; analyzes and
identifies improvements for reliable performance during normal and emergency conditions, such as fires
and earthquakes; and prioritizes capital improvements to the system for the next 20 years.
One of the major improvements to the water system is to replace a water tank and its supporting pump
station and water mains in the Emerald Hills water service areas to provide additional storage capacity to
meet established needs during normal operations and in emergency situations for the Easter Bowl, Easter
Cross, and California pressure zones.
City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 940631 el: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org
123
